Learning ways of building these waka from more modern materials enables our rangatahi and whānau to learn the skills and tikanga of building and waka-hourua
It is our moemoea that this will lead to learning sailing skills and eventually lead to more whānau and rangatahi learning to sail full sized waka-hourua, as our tūpuna did.
